Inside Edge – Shorts is a course run by independent filmmakers John Giwa-Amu and Caradog James who both cut their teeth in self-funded short films before moving to features. Their films have been nominated at the British Independent Film Awards, won the BBC Talent Award at Bristol Brief Encounters and Three BAFTA Cymru Awards.They are both also judges of several short and feature film awards across the UK.

‘Inside Edge Shorts’ will give you all the information you need to make an award winning short film that kickstarts your career. Topics include: writing, directing, working on low budgets, raising finance, film festivals and preparing for success.

ON THE DAY CUSTOMERS MUST PROVIDE THEIR PRINTED VOUCHER AS PROOF OF PURCHASE

There are several things we’d like to let you know to ensure you make the most out of the day and fully enjoy your experience. Please be careful to take note of each.

1) Please bring a pen, paper and something hard to write on. You’ll be receiving a lot of information so you’ll most likely want to take notes.

2) If purchased with a discount we will need a PDF of your voucher e-mailed to us before the event to, insideedge@redandblackfilms.com

3) Come prepared to network. Filmmaking is a collaborative process and the time before the seminar, during lunch and afterward can be used to meet like minded people who, like you, plan to make films. One of the greatest gifts you could get from the day may be someone you meet.

4) Lastly, please aim to arrive at the hotel NO LATER THAN 9:30AM as you each have to be identified, ticked off the list and seated. It is very important that the group’s experience is not compromised by any late arrivals breaking up the flow of the seminar.

You should all be seated and ready to begin at 10:00am sharp. Please consider parking, journey times and setting your alarm clocks carefully as ADMISSION AFTER 10:00 AM MAY NOT BE GRANTED.
